This project realizes a huge advancement for the Genealogical community, and is the MOST ADVANCED Family History Center management tool on the planet. Previously film and fiche orders had to be manually entered by number, subject, description, etc. one by one. Some breakthrough technology has allowed us to tap into the resources of a database indexing film and fiche orders. Not only does this save the patron researchers time, it gives them a much clearer idea as to what may or may not be available at the History Centre at any given time. This software ties together three separate programs in one, yet it operates as one, saving time in the order of 100 fold while inproving the integrity of the data.

My Credits

My Credits is a continued learning site. Targeted at British Columbia members of the insurance community, My Credits offers the training necessary for brokers and agents to remain fully informed in the changing insurance world. This project involved moving the existing system to SQL Server, and interfacing the existing system through a JDBC-ODBC driver. Additions to the site include a sophisticated web store, a true ecommerce solution, and various other enhancements to the existing system to make up where the existing system was lacking.

Music-in-Mind

It's hard to believe that just a few years ago Buddy Holly was sometimes referred to as "an arm of the devil". Nowdays, we look back in retrospect at that era as an age of innocence, and that Buddy Holly could be an arm of the devil places everything in a different light. The fact that a site like music-in-mind.com even exists says something about the state of affairs in the music world today. This site allows groups and parents concerned about the state of the music being played to screen out objectionable material BEFORE it becomes a problem.

Face-Off

Face-Off represents another breakthrough for the beer and smaller leagues who want a very effective presence without the hastle of keeping statistics. Face-off allows the entry of scoresheets alone, and from that entire league statistics are generated dynamically in a totally customizeable environment. The statistics engine rivals that of the NHL, and supports playoffs, season, tournament, and exhibition games.

Tee-Off

Tee-off represents the changing of a static HTML site to a dynamic site, in parts. The main feature was a handicap tracker, designed for users to track their handicap scores from a web based application. Other features included in the site were a forum for members to make their comments and join in the discussion, a game, and various other features controlled remotely by the owner in their administrative interface.

Camosun College Intranet

This intranet serves about 50 full time users in Victoria in several offices throughout the city. This project demonstrates the flexibility available to the client when open thinking replaces stale, outdated stand alone information systems methods. Coded entirely in Javascript, CSS, JAVA, HTML, SQL, and Coldfusion, CIMS increases productivity and give the staff total control over their data -- wherever they are. CIMS also includes portals for Employers, Students, and Alumni and graduates to gain access to relevant information in real time. It also provides faxing, mass emails, export to Microsoft Word 97 and 2000, export to Microsoft Excel, and automatic custom reports, saving countless hours of calculations which were previously necessary. All this happens within the browser window, so setting up new workstations and logging onto the system requires zero setup time. And since the interface is a browser based, training time is virtually zero for anyone familiar with the feel of a Web interface. CIMS represents over 1440 pages and 200000 lines of code written in less than 6 months.
